Anna Rafalowski will be receiving her BFA in Sculpture and Ceramics in May 2018 from The University of North Carolina Greensboro. In the summer of 2017, Rafalowski attended an artist residency at Penland School of Crafts, where she broadened her knowledge of materials and process.

"At Penland, I created a series of baskets that captured intimate moments reminiscent of family, friends, and the self. These baskets transform materials traditionally utilized by everyday environments, such as birthday candles, wax paper, and tablemats to inspire and create new meaning. These materials are mixed with cement that offers a weight and suspense in time, as well as twine that twists and tangles the materials into one."
